I didn’t get into filmmaking just because I loved cameras. I promise you, I’m not the person geeking out over every new camera update.
After losing my mom, I didn’t realize just how much my life would change. That one day, I’d find myself holding onto a voicemail, the memories she’d spent her life capturing on her Canon, and the hope that life would eventually feel a little lighter.
And it did.
That experience changed the way I see what I do. Because years from now, it might not be the perfect lighting or the camera movement that matters most. It might be someone’s laugh, the way they looked at you, or a moment you didn’t even realize you’d miss.
And I think that’s what makes creating worth it.
