When should you hire a creative director instead of only a videographer?
Hire a videographer when you already know exactly what you want captured. Hire a creative director when you know the feeling you want but not yet the images — or when the project needs to hold together across multiple pieces.
A videographer executes. A creative director decides what should exist in the first place: the concept, the visual language, the locations, the wardrobe, the order things happen in, and how it all connects to what you're building.
The clearest signal you need direction is inconsistency. If your last five posts, your website, and your last release all look like they came from different people, no amount of camera quality will fix that. That's a direction problem.
It's also the difference between one video and an identity. That's why artist direction with me is ongoing from $450/month rather than priced per shoot — the value is in the through-line, not any single file.
